The PTTG1/VASP axis promotes oral squamous cell carcinoma metastasis by modulating focal adhesion and actin filaments

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
VASP was found to be overexpressed in metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues. Notably, PTTG1‐ and VASP‐deficient OSCC cells demonstrated suppressed metastatic properties by disrupting the interaction between the cytoskeleton and focal adhesion (FAs) in the filopodia region.

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

A rare anatomical variation of great saphenous vein at the level of saphenofemoral junction

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2018
The saphenofemoral junction is one of the major connections between the superficial and deep venous system in the leg. It is important to understand the anatomic variations in the lower extremity for treatment of venous disorders.

KMT2A degradation is observed in decitabine‐responsive acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that decitabine (DEC) not only degrades the DNA methyltransferase DNMT1 but also the leukemic driver lysine methyltransferase KMT2A likely due to structural similarity of the DNA‐binding CXXC domains. DEC influences KMT2A downstream processes and synergizes with menin inhibitor revumenib (REV) to decrease leukemic cell proliferation, and

VeinPLUS: A Transillumination and Reflection-based Hand Vein Database [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
This paper gives a short summary of work related to the creation of a department-hosted hand vein database. After the introducing section, special properties of the hand vein acquisition are explained, followed by a comparison table, which shows key differences to existing well-known hand vein databases.

Analysis of Master Vein Attacks on Finger Vein Recognition Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Finger vein recognition (FVR) systems have been commercially used, especially in ATMs, for customer verification. Thus, it is essential to measure their robustness against various attack methods, especially when a hand-crafted FVR system is used without any countermeasure methods.
