Different mechanisms in periventricular and deep white matter hyperintensities in old subjects

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2022
ObjectiveAlthough multiple pieces of evidence have suggested that there are different mechanisms in periventricular white matter hyperintensities (PWMHs) and deep white matter hyperintensities (DWMHs), the exact mechanism remains uncertain.MethodsWe ...

Residual Feature Pyramid Network for Enhancement of Vascular Patterns [PDF]

open access: yesin Proceedings of the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) Workshops, 2022, pp. 1588-1595, 2023
The accuracy of finger vein recognition systems gets degraded due to low and uneven contrast between veins and surroundings, often resulting in poor detection of vein patterns. We propose a finger-vein enhancement technique, ResFPN (Residual Feature Pyramid Network), as a generic preprocessing method agnostic to the recognition pipeline.

Trends in the incidence of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism: a 25-year population-based study.

open access: yesArchives of Internal Medicine, 1998
BACKGROUND The incidence of venous thromboembolism has not been well described, and there are no studies of long-term trends in the incidence of venous thromboembolism. OBJECTIVES To estimate the incidence of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
