Optical Skyrmions with Tunable or Reconfigurable Topology Using Spin‐Decoupled Metaoptics
The work introduces advanced optical elements capable of generating and dynamically reconfiguring complex light patterns known as optical skyrmions. By precisely shaping light polarization at the nanoscale, a single engineered metasurface can generate and manipulate robust and tunable polarization textures in an efficient and scalable way.

ABSTRACT We develop a unified mathematical framework extending classical moment theory from discrete integer orders to a continuous spectrum of real orders f>0$$ f>0 $$, providing a systematic statistical characterization of complex systems exhibiting power‐law behavior.

Polar‐low track prediction using machine‐learning methods
Machine‐learning models are developed to produce reliable and efficient forecasts of polar‐low (PL) trajectories 12 hours ahead. A temporal model (RLSTM) benefiting from the rolling‐forecast strategy, improves overall prediction accuracy and is suitable for quick experimentation, while a spatiotemporal model (PL‐UNet), incorporating both historical and

Numerical studies of viscous incompressible flow between two rotating concentric spheres
The problem of determining the induced steady axially symmetric motion of an incompressible viscous fluid confined between two concentric spheres, with the outer sphere rotating with constant angular velocity and the inner sphere fixed, is numerically ...

How consistently do ensemble prediction systems represent the growth of atmospheric uncertainty?
Spread‐based diagnostics calculated for 12 ensemble prediction systems are compared to understand the consistency with which they represent atmospheric uncertainty growth. Good correlation between all these systems is found in the extratropics for a lead time range from 48 hr to between 96 hr and 192 hr.

We study a velocity-vorticity scheme for the 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, which is based on a formulation that couples the rotation form of the momentum equation with the vorticity equation, and a temporal discretization that stably ...

Dynamics and thermodynamics of the fast and slow Madden–Julian Oscillation
The results of this study highlight the MJO as a complex phenomenon, the behavior of which is driven by an interplay of thermodynamic and dynamic processes. The MJO's distinct speeds are controlled by different mechanisms: slow MJOs propagate eastward primarily via horizontal moisture advection, fast MJOs by vertical moisture advection.

Prediction method of hydrofoil vortex shedding frequency at high Reynolds numbers
[Objectives] Flow around hydrofoils under high Reynolds number is always a hot topic in hydrodynamic field due to its complicated principle and difficult calculation. The Discrete Vortex Model (DVM) based on vorticity and stream function formulation is a
