The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

On the advantages of the vorticity-velocity formulation of the equations of fluid dynamics
The mathematical properties of the pressure-velocity and vorticity-velocity formulations of the equations of viscous flow are compared. It is shown that a vorticity-velocity formulation exists which has the interesting property that non-inertial effects ...

Warming shifted westward tracks northwards toward Guangdong, and concentrated curved tracks over the Yangtze River mouth. It is therefore possible that the perceived increased typhoon damage in recent years may be due to intense typhoon tracks shifting to more populated and economically important regions.

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer in a pipe with nail-shaped hurdles
We investigate fluid flow and heat transfer in a channel obstructed by nail-shaped hurdles under forced convection using the Finite Difference Method. Due to the absence of an analytical solution, numerical techniques are employed.

Accuracy considerations for implementing velocity boundary condiditons in vorticity formulations [PDF]
A vorticity formulation is described that satisfies the velocity boundary conditions for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Velocity boundary conditions are satisfied by determining the appropriate vortex sheets that must be created on the ...

Formulation of Peptide‐Based Nanoparticles Using a Microfluidic Device
A case study using the TAMARA microfluidic device (Inside Therapeutics) was performed for peptide‐based nanoparticles under different operational parameters such as mixing channel geometry, total flow rate, and flow rate ratio. In this context, WRAP5 cell‐penetrating peptide‐based nanoparticles for siRNA or pDNA delivery demonstrated enhanced ...
