Velocity-Based Storage Assignment in Semi-Automated Storage Systems [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
Our research focuses on the storage decision in a semi‐automated storage system, where the inventory is stored on mobile storage pods. In a typical system, each storage pod carries a mixture of items, and the inventory of each item is spread over multiple storage pods.

Optokinetic nystagmus: modeling the velocity storage mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Neuroscience, 1988
To account for the oscillatory behavior of the optokinetic after- nystagmus (OKAN), a nonlinear model of the optokinetic system is proposed here that includes 2 first-order storage elements interconnected in a negative feedback loop. The adequacy of the model is tested by comparing its predictions with experimental data available in the literature.

Do humans show velocity-storage in the vertical rVOR? [PDF]

open access: yesEquilibrium Research, 2008
To investigate the contribution of the vestibular velocity-storage mechanism (VSM) to the vertical rotational vestibulo-ocular reflex (rVOR) we recorded eye movements evoked by off-vertical axis rotation (OVAR) using whole-body constant-velocity pitch rotations about an earth-horizontal, interaural axis in four healthy human subjects.

Symptom reduction in mal de débarquement syndrome with attenuation of the velocity storage contribution in the central vestibular pathways [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Rehabilitation Sciences
BackgroundThe velocity storage mechanism of the central vestibular system is closely associated with the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR), but also contributes to the sense of orientation in space and the perception of self-motion.

Preliminary reference intervals and the impact of citrate storage time for thrombelastography in cats including delta and the velocity curve

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2017
Background Thrombelastography is a useful tool in assessment of hemostasis. Beside the traditional variables, the velocity curve and the variable delta have lately earned attention.

Effect of Inner Velocity and Temperature on Outer Ice Accumulation in Ice Storage

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2021
The ice storage air conditioner plays a vital role in the energy consumption of buildings, economic cost, and peak-load regulation of the electricity grid. However, the effects of different flow in the tube of ice storage tank, which is the key component

The Importance of Being in Touch

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2021
This paper describes a series of studies resulting from the finding that when free floating in weightless conditions with eyes closed, all sense of one's spatial orientation with respect to the aircraft can be lost.

Treatment of Gravitational Pulling Sensation in Patients With Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MdDS): A Model-Based Approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Integrative Neuroscience, 2022
Perception of the spatial vertical is important for maintaining and stabilizing vertical posture during body motion. The velocity storage pathway of vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR), which integrates vestibular, optokinetic, and proprioception in the ...

Head-shaking-induced nystagmus reflects dynamic vestibular compensation: A 2-year follow-up study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
PurposeWe aimed to assess the ability of a head-shaking test (HST) to reflect vestibular compensation in patients after unilateral peripheral vestibular loss and to provide missing evidence and new insights into the features of head-shaking-induced ...
