Structured regularization based velocity structure estimation in local earthquake tomography for the adaptation to velocity discontinuities

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2022
We propose a local earthquake tomography method that applies a structured regularization technique to determine sharp changes in Earth’s seismic velocity structure using arrival time data of direct waves.

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2021

Walkaway vertical seismic profiling first-arrival traveltime tomography with velocity structure constraints

open access: yesOpen Geosciences, 2023
Walkaway vertical seismic profiling (WVSP) is known for its high level of credibility in obtaining the relationship between first-arrival traveltime and detector depth through first-arrival picking.

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2022

Velocity Structure of Jets in a Coronal Hole [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 2007
Abstract The velocity structures of jets in a coronal hole have been derived for the first time. Hinode observations revealed the existence of many bright points in coronal holes. They are loop-shaped and sometimes associated with coronal jets. Spectra obtained with the Extreme-ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer aboard Hinode were analyzed

Fracture and tomography of velocity structures of sandstone under uniaxial loads

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2021
The extent of fracture in the loaded rock increases with the increase of the loads, accompanied by changes in velocity structure. To monitor the fracture laws of sandstone under uniaxial loads, the acoustic emission (AE) is adopted.

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2022

Structure in the velocity space of globular clusters [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2001
We present an analysis of the velocity space of a sample of globular clusters (GC) with absolute proper motions. The vertical component of the velocity is found to be correlated with luminosity and galactocentric radius. We divided the sample into two luminosity groups above and below the peak of the luminosity function (LF), MV=-7.5, for Galactic GCs.
