Right atrium and superior vena cava pressure measurements in a novel animal model to study one and a half ventricle repair as compared to Fontan type procedure

open access: yesJournal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal, 2017

The In Vitro Transgenic Rodent Assay in Primary MutaMouse Hepatocytes Compared to the Mammalian Cell Gene Mutation Assay Using the HPRT Gene

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gene mutations can be detected in mammalian cells in vitro using indicator genes such as the hypoxanthine‐guanine‐phosphoribosyltransferase (HPRT) gene. These assays have been adopted as OECD test guidelines (TG, e.g., OECD TG no. 476) and are used for regulatory purposes.

Inferior vena cava injury: survival of a rare case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The inferior vena cava is the most commonly injured abdominal vessel and accounts for about 25% of abdominal vascular injuries. Despite improved preoperative care and operative techniques, the mortality rates for the inferior vena cava injuries are still

Transcatheter removal of a briefly penetrated inferior vena cava filter in an open abdomen: a case report

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background The likelihood of inferior vena cava filter penetration increases with prolonged implantation. Despite the generally low risk associated with an ALN inferior vena cava filter (ALN IMPLANTS CHIRURGICAUX, Ghisonaccia, France), we present a case ...

Transabdominal two-cavity approach for radical nephrectomy combined with inferior vena cava thrombectomy for malignant thrombus caused by renal cell carcinoma: a case series

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2018
Background Advanced renal cell carcinoma in some cases causes malignant intravascular thrombus with the potential for growth into the inferior vena cava or even the right atrium.

Napabucasin transforms liver microenvironment and boosts immunotherapy efficacy by converting potential metastases into “hot” tumors

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Napabucasin reduces liver metastases by reprogramming the hepatic microenvironment. It induces hepatocyte secretion of CCL21 via c‐Fos activation, recruiting lymphocytes and converting “cold” metastases into immunologically “hot” tumors. This effect is liver‐specific and independent of cancer cells.
