Sympatho‐Excitation in Pulmonary Hypertension: The Potential Role of Pulmonary Arterial Baroreceptors: An Acute Physiologic Intervention Study

open access: yesRespirology, Volume 31, Issue 6, Page 621-629, June 2026.
Pulmonary arterial baroreceptors reflexively stimulate sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) in response to elevated pulmonary artery pressure and distension. In pulmonary hypertension patients, changes in muscle SNA were proportional to changes in pulmonary haemodynamics following nebulised iloprost.

Immune escape mechanisms revealed by multifunctional nanoprobes targeting PD‐L1 in hepatic cancer progression

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
The ICGB@Apt nanoprobes are designed to specifically recognize immune checkpoint molecules such as PD‐L1, thereby enabling precise monitoring of the progression from liver cirrhosis to HC. By binding to PD‐L1 on tumor cells, ICGB@Apt visualizes immune escape events and tumor metastasis while simultaneously reflecting the dynamic interaction between ...

Guidelines for Essential Trauma Care: Second Edition (2026)

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 1409-1450, June 2026.
Injury is a major cause of death and disability globally, with the highest burden in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Strengthening the organization and planning for trauma care (care of the injured) can improve care and lower mortality. In 2004, the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC) and the World Health ...

Inferior vana caval filter. Experience from a community hospital

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases, 2014
Venous thromboembolism is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. When pharmacological therapy fails or is contraindicated, interruption of the inferior vena cava (IVC) is recommended.

Intra‐Procedural Three‐Dimensional Rotational Angiography in Cryoballoon Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation: An RCT

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, Page 707-713, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The impact of various imaging techniques on the safety and outcomes of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation remains unclear. Intra‐procedural three‐dimensional rotational angiography (3DRA) is the least used imaging method despite some benefits.

Excellent Outcomes With High‐Risk Pediatric Hepatoblastoma: A Detailed Analysis of a Large, Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesPediatric Transplantation, Volume 30, Issue 6, June 2026.
This large single‐center experience demonstrates that liver transplantation is a highly effective curative strategy for high‐risk pediatric hepatoblastoma. Recurrence risk is driven by tumor biology and treatment timing rather than metastatic disease at diagnosis.
