Abstract figure legend The genetic inactivation of one Mcu allele leads to sex‐specific changes in neuronal function in adult mice, that is, the firing of action potentials and the relationship between cytosolic and mitochondrial Ca2+ levels. The ability to produce NAD(P)H by stimulated neural tissue is largely preserved in male mice but delayed in ...

Changes in the dimensions of the venae cavae
In 11 dogs a variable resistance gauge, a bonded strain gauge, or mutual inductance coils were installed on the venae cavae under aseptic surgical conditions so that dimensional changes in unexposed veins could be measured directly.

The isolated working guinea pig heart: A functional and electrophysiological characterisation
Abstract Small animal isolated perfused hearts have been used for over 150 years for the study of cardiac physiology and pharmacology. The guinea pig heart represents the smallest mammalian heart that replicates key features of the human heart – for example, with respect to cardiac action potential duration, ion channel expression, excitation ...

Abstract figure legend Integrated multimodal platform for panoramic cardiac mapping in isolated heart experiments. On the left, an image of the experimental setup during data acquisition showing a Langendorff‐perfused rabbit heart surrounded by three optical cameras (CAM A, B and C) positioned 120° apart, each coupled with high‐power LEDs for panoramic

Venae cavae flow pattern in cats: as studied with high-speed cinefluorographic technique
Movements of Lipiodol droplets were studied in the venae cavae of cats by high-speed cinefluorography at 260 frames/sec. Oscilloscopic tracings of simultaneous cardiac events were recorded on the same movie film.
