A Novel Scoring System for Lower-extremity Venous Pathology Analysed Using Magnetic Resonance Venography and Duplex Ultrasound

open access: yes, 2012
Objectives: To present a novel scoring system for lower-extremity venous pathology (the LOVE score) and our experiences using it in our clinical practice to identify venous pathology with duplex ultrasound (DUS) and magnetic resonance venography (MRV ...

Force‐Electric Nanotentacles of Tantalum Implant Accelerate Cellular Energy Metabolism/Crosstalk for Immunomodulation‐Vascularized Bone Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic force‐electric nanotentacle‐enabled tantalum (Ta) implant with surface‐nanostructured LiTaO3 (n‐LiTaO3) was first developed via laser nanofabrication combined with Li+‐induced in situ reaction, enabling the transduction of ultrasound into bioelectrical cues.

How Does Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction Affect the Multimodal Assessment of Congestion in Patients with Acute Heart Failure? Results from a Prospective Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The assessment of systemic congestion in acute heart failure (AHF) remains clinically challenging, particularly across different left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) phenotypes. This study aimed to evaluate whether differences exist in the degree of

D4F‐Functionalized Ceria Nanozyme‐CasRx Platform Suppresses STING and Reprograms the Renal Immune Niche in Acute Kidney Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
D4F‐functionalized ceria nanozyme–CasRx nanoparticles preferentially target renal macrophages through SR‐B1‐mediated uptake in ischemia–reperfusion injury. Ceria scavenges excessive ROS, while CasRx silences STING signaling, shifting macrophages toward a less inflammatory, pro‐resolving state and increasing the proportion of regulatory T cells.

Criteria for detecting significant chronic iliac venous obstructions with duplex ultrasound

open access: yes, 2016
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the sonographic criteria for diagnosis of iliac venous outflow obstruction by assessing the correlation of this method with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in patients with advanced chronic venous ...

Mitochondria‐Targeted Multimodal Nanotherapeutics Suppress Oxidized mtDNA‐Driven Inflammation at the Source

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ox‐mtDNA fragments escaping from mitochondria drive robust inflammatory responses. A targeted nanoplatform simultaneously inhibits mitochondrial FEN1‐mediated mtDNA cleavage and scavenges ROS, preventing the generation of immunogenic Ox‐mtDNA fragments. The released SeNPs further promote autophagic clearance of cytosolic mtDNA. Consequently, cGAS‐STING,

Static Drainage H2/O2 PEM Fuel Cells Enabled by Water Transport Plates: Pore‐Scale Design and Transport Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The WTP is a key component of static drainage PEMFCs, enabling cathode water removal and gas sealing through capillary forces. This work investigates the mechanisms governing WTP drainage and sealing performance and develops predictive approaches for WTP design optimization.
