Design and Optimization of Cleanroom Systems From an Energy Perspective

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Using MATLAB‐based modeling, this study optimizes HVAC energy use in pharmaceutical cleanrooms with plastic injection machines. Results show optimal fresh air and ACH settings for winter (50%, 50) and summer (90%, 40/25 for class C/D). Adaptive control of ventilation further enhances efficiency.

Forced Draught Impact on Externally Venting Flames: An Experimental and Numerical Investigation

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wind can significantly influence fire development and spread in urban and forest environments causing fatal consequences for the public, the first responders, and the environment. Wind‐driven fires can have a significant impact on structural fires as wind can increase the fire's intensity, development, and flame spread.

Enhancing natural ventilation in patients’ wards in a Belgian hospital by integrating some ventilation concepts from vernacular architecture

open access: yes, 2016
Recently, passive techniques have received a considerable attention in our modern buildings as a response to energy consumption, global warming and world ambition towards energy efficient buildings. Passive ventilation did not share a big ratio of interest due to several reasons such as the problem of natural ventilation fluctuations and the ...

Protocol for the Preparation of Polyphenols‐Polysaccharide Nanoparticles

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyphenols, natural compounds abundantly distributed in plants, possess potent antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activities and hold promising potential in cardiovascular protection and the management of metabolic disorders. Nevertheless, their intrinsic instability and low bioavailability severely constrain their practical and large‐scale ...

Downdraft Devices for Negative Emissions—Quantification Study and Environmental Implication

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Methane (CH4) is a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential far exceeding that of CO2 over short time horizons. Its removal from the atmosphere remains challenging due to its low ambient concentration and chemical stability. This study explores downdraft energy towers (DETs) as an innovative CH4 mitigation technology that enhances
