Detection and quantitative analysis of patient-ventilator interactions in ventilated infants by deep learning networks

Pediatric Research
The study of patient-ventilator interactions (PVI) in mechanically ventilated neonates is limited by the lack of unified PVI definitions and tools to perform large scale analyses. An observational study was conducted in 23 babies randomly selected from 170 neonates who were ventilated with SIPPV-VG, SIMV-VG or PSV-VG mode for at least 12 h.

The application of computers to the solution of mine ventilation networks.

The ventilation circuit of a mine is a complex network of underground airways. In all but the smallest of mines, airflow through the circuit is induced by mechanical means. The relationship between the volume of air flowing and the associated pressure loss in any airway is non-linear.

Artificial neural networks and naturally ventilated buildings

Building Research & Information, 1996

Neural Network for Simulating Ventilation in a Dairy House

2007
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are a computational technology alternative to the classic methods based on physic modeling. They can estimate input-output functions, without a mathematical model of the reciprocal physical relationship, through a learning process based on presentation of numerical data samples.
