Cerebral Tissue Pulmonary Embolism Masquerading as Primary Graft Dysfunction After Lung Transplantation

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Early graft dysfunction following lung transplantation is commonly attributed to primary graft dysfunction (PGD). However, other rare etiologies may present with similar clinical and radiologic features. We report a unique case of a 58‐year‐old male with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis who underwent bilateral lung transplantation.

Refractory Peripheral Pulmonary Stenosis and Severe Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Associated With a De Novo Loss‐of‐Function Variant in FGD5

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a novel genetic variant in a patient with treatment‐resistant peripheral pulmonary artery stenosis (PPS) and progressive pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). A premature infant was diagnosed with bilateral PPS requiring multiple surgical reconstructions and interventional procedures with refractory proximal stenoses.

A Rare Case of Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis Superimposed by Severe COVID‐19 Pneumonia: Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
This report presents a rare case of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) in a young male who subsequently developed COVID‐19. It highlights the critical importance of integrating clinical and radiological precision in diagnosing lung diseases with overlapping imaging features and underscores the rapid deterioration observed when PAP is complicated by ...

Use of Continuous Regional Anesthesia Infusion as an Opioid‐Sparing Modality in Mechanically Ventilated Patients With Acute Traumatic Rib Fractures—A Retrospective Study

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Continuous regional anesthesia (CRA) techniques are used for analgesia in patients with acute rib fractures. However, there is a paucity of evidence supporting the initiation of CRA in patients receiving mechanical ventilation (MV). We therefore performed this retrospective study to assess changes in opioid consumption and the rate ...
