Obstructions to left ventricular outflow
World Journal of Surgery, 1985AbstractModern techniques of cardiopulmonary bypass combined with methods for myocardial protection make the conventional operations of prosthetic patch aortoplasty, aortic valvotomy, and transvalvular resection of subaortic membranes dependable and accurate procedures which can provide the obliteration or successful reduction of systolic gradients ...

Left Ventricular Outflow Obstruction in Infancy and Childhood
Archives of Surgery, 1969Left ventricular outflow obstruction occurs in 3% to 5% of cardiac anomalies encountered in the pediatric age group. The obstructing lesion may be supravalvular, valvular, subvalvular, or a combination of more than one lesion. 1,2 The indication for surgical intervention in these patients is not yet fully defined.

Left Ventricular Volume and Hypertrophy in Outflow Obstruction
Cardiovascular Research, 1968Left ventricular wall thickness and ejection fraction were found to be increased in 17 patients with either hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy or organic obstruction to left heart outflow. Concentric hypertrophy appears to take place partly by inward growth, and this behaviour may be important for understanding the diseases associated with it.

Recognition of Left Ventricular Outflow Obstruction
Circulation, 1965The purpose of this report is to summarize the syndromes of obstruction to left ventricular outflow. Emphasis is placed upon the correlations between clinical, hemodynamic, and angiographic features that permit an accurate diagnosis. An exact definition of the problem in each patient has become of great importance because of rapid advances in cardiac ...

Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction
Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Annual, 2004Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction can occur at the supravalvar, valvar, or subvalvar level. Each level of obstruction is associated with distinct symptomatology, natural history, and operative approach. Reconstructive techniques can usually be used with low operative risk and excellent immediate and longer-term outcomes.

Prenatal Diagnosis, 2018
The pathophysiology of right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO) in twin‐to‐twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) recipients is incompletely understood. We aimed to investigate the development and spectrum of RVOTO in TTTS recipients.

Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction
2009Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO) accounts for 5–10% of all congenital heart defects. LVOTO occurs at the valvar (70%), subvalvar (14%), and supravalvar (8%) level, and several levels of obstruction often coexist (8%) [1]. Another type of muscular subaortic stenosis, present with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, is known as hypertrophic ...

Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction
NeoReviews, 2006A term female newborn presents with a prenatal diagnosis of cardiac masses on prenatal echocardiography. ### Prenatal History: ### Birth History and Presentation: The baby was delivered by elective cesarean section after rupture of membranes with clear fluid. Apgar scores were 9 at both 1 and 5 minutes.
