Echocardiographic Assessment after Surgical Repair of Tetralogy of Fallot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Surgical correction of Tetralogy of Fallot is still one of the most frequently performed intervention in pediatric cardiac surgery, and in many cases it is far from being a complete and definitive correction.

Right Ventricular Myxoma Obstructing the Right Ventricular Outflow Tract [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 2000
A12-year-old previously healthy girl developed syncope when walking at school. When she was seen in the emergency department, her heart rate was 115 bpm, the precordial impulse was active, and a thrill was palpated. Third and fourth heart sounds were heard. A grade 4/6 systolic ejection murmur was heard at the …

Long‐Term Impact of Prosthesis‐Patient Mismatch After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients With Small Aortic Annuli

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Prosthesis‐patient mismatch (PPM) remains common following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and is associated with worse clinical outcomes. PPM is of particular concern in small aortic annuli (SAA). Aims To compare the incidence, predictors, and long‐term impact of PPM in SAA TAVR.

Preliminary experience with continuous right ventricular pressure and transesophageal echocardiography monitoring in orthotopic liver transplantation.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
BackgroundDespite increasing attention in the cardiac anesthesiology literature, continuous measurement of right ventricular pressure using a pulmonary artery catheter has not been described in orthotopic liver transplantation, despite similarities in ...

Aorto-ventricular tunnel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Aorto-ventricular tunnel is a congenital, extracardiac channel which connects the ascending aorta above the sinutubular junction to the cavity of the left, or (less commonly) right ventricle. The exact incidence is unknown, estimates ranging from 0.5% of

Metastasizing Leiomyoma Obstructing the Right Ventricular Outflow Tract

open access: yesAnnals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, 2020
A very loud systolic murmur was identified during a pre-operative evaluation of a 51-year-old woman for an elective hysterectomy. The TTE showed a 4.7 cm intracardiac mass obstructing the RVOT. The patient was scheduled instead for resection of the mass.

Expression of mutant TIE2 p.L914F during mouse development causes embryonic lethality and defects in vascular remodeling

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.

Giant ventricular myxoma obstructing right ventricular outflow tract.

open access: yesRevista brasileira de cirurgia cardiovascular : orgao oficial da Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Cardiovascular, 2011
Intracardiac myxoma is predominantly located in the left atrium but their location in the right ventricle is quite unusual. We present a case in which successful excision of the tumor was done through bicameral approach.
