Effects of environmental factors on discharge and germination of ascospores of Venturia nashicola [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Pathology, 2007
Experiments were conducted under controlled environmental conditions to study the effects of temperature, duration of wetness, relative humidity (RH) and light on the discharge and germination of ascospores of Venturia nashicola , the causal agent of pear scab in China.

Dispersion of ascospores and conidia of causal fungus of Japanese pear scab, Venturia nashicola.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Phytopathology, 1990

High Contiguity Whole Genome Sequence and Gene Annotation Resource for Two Venturia nashicola Isolates [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions®, 2019
Venturia nashicola is a fungal pathogen that causes Asian pear scab disease. This pathogen is of particular importance in Northeast Asian countries, where Asian pears are grown industrially. Scab disease in Asian pear is currently controlled by fungicide spraying and this situation calls for developing scab resistant cultivars.

Relationship between Leaf Wetness Period, Temperature and Infection of Venturia nashicola to Japanese Pear Leaves.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Phytopathology, 1991
The relationship between leaf wetness period, temperature and infection to Japanese pear leaves by artificial inoculation with conidia of Japanese pear scab fungus, Venturia nashicola, was investigated. The inoculated leaves developed symptoms slightly with 9-hr leaf wetting at 15°C, moderately with 12-hr leaf wetting at 5 and 25°C, and more heavily at
