Bidirectional Synergistic Vergence [PDF]
A 14-year-old boy presented with left ptosis and squint since his childhood. In primary position he had left hypotropia with ptosis (levator function 2 mm). With elevation of the right eye, the left eye depresses and adducts; with depression of the right eye, the left eye elevates and abducts. Forced duction test revealed no restrictive pattern.

Central crosstalk for somatic tinnitus: abnormal vergence eye movements. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Frequent oulomotricity problems with orthoptic testing were reported in patients with tinnitus. This study examines with objective recordings vergence eye movements in patients with somatic tinnitus patients with ability to modify their ...

Vergence fusion sustaining oscillations
Introduction: Previous studies have shown that the slow, or fusion sustaining, component of disparity vergence contains oscillatory behavior. Given the delays in disparity vergence control, a feedback control system would be expected to exhibit oscillations following the initial transient period.

Background: Facial expression of emotion is fundamental to human social interactions. Attention to relevant cues in ADHD and ASD patients are believed to underlie difficulties in recognizing emotions. Cognitive vergence eye movements during gaze fixation

Accuracy of formulae for secondary intraocular lens power calculations in pediatric aphakia
Purpose: To compare the accuracy of axial length vergence formulas versus refractive vergence formulas for secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in pediatric aphakia. Methods: This retrospective comparative study, evaluated 31 eyes of 31 patients

Benefits from vergence rehabilitation: evidence for improvement of reading saccades and fixations
We hypothesize that binocular coordination of saccades is based on continuous neuroplasticity involving interactions of saccades and vergence. To test this hypothesis we study reading saccades in young students who were diagnosed for vergence disorders ...

Differentiation between vergence and saccadic functional activity within the human frontal eye fields and midbrain revealed through fMRI. [PDF]
Eye movement research has traditionally studied solely saccade and/or vergence eye movements by isolating these systems within a laboratory setting. While the neural correlates of saccadic eye movements are established, few studies have quantified the ...

PURPOSE: This study examined the relationship between the near dissociated phoria and disparity vergence eye movements. Convergence insufficiency (CI) patients before vergence therapy were compared to: 1) the same patients after vergence therapy and 2 ...

A role of eye vergence in covert attention. [PDF]
Covert spatial attention produces biases in perceptual and neural responses in the absence of overt orienting movements. The neural mechanism that gives rise to these effects is poorly understood.

Popular culture conventions (cons) can be powerful opportunities for library outreach, but they are underutilized or ignored as possibilities for many libraries. This article summarizes the results of a survey of libraries concerning their own con attendance/non-attendance as well as perceived benefits and actual barriers to attending.
