Multisectoral Convergence of Food, Nutrition and Sanitation Programs for Child Health: Evidence From Country‐Level Programs in India

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper underscores the critical role of multisectoral convergence in enhancing child health, particularly in addressing anemia, a micronutrient deficiency linked to both diet and sanitation. We explore how the integration of nationwide food and nutrition programs with sanitation initiatives impacts anemia in Indian children under three ...

Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Short‐ and Long‐Term Outcomes Following Natural Orifice Specimen Extraction for Colon Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Natural orifice specimen extraction (NOSE) in colon cancer surgery raises concerns about intra‐abdominal infection, peritoneal seeding, and local recurrence due to possible tumor cell implantation. This systematic review and meta‐analysis compares complete intracorporeal resection with NOSE versus conventional laparoscopic colon ...

Visual efficiency among teenaged athletes and non-athletes [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2017
AIM: To compare visual efficiency, specifically accom-modation, vergence, and oculomotor functions among athletes and non-athletes. METHODS: A cross-sectional study on sports vision screening was used to evaluate the visual skills of 214 elementary ...

Acquired Vertical Accommodative Vergence [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Ophthalmology Journal, 2008
Vertical accommodative vergence is an unusual synkinesis in which vertical vergence is modulated together with accommodation. It results from a supranuclear miswiring of the network normally conveying accommodative convergence. So far, it is unknown whether this condition is congenital or acquired.

Evidence Supporting Open-Loop Control During Early Vergence

open access: yesJournal of Eye Movement Research, 2013
Disparity vergence eye movements were analyzed to determine if the early component of this response operates under open-loop, or preprogrammed, control. The analysis compares ratios of peak velocity to response amplitude (i.e., main sequence ratios) for ...

Impact of Renin‐Angiotensin System Inhibitors on Renal Function During Temporary Ileostomy Period in Rectal Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.

Target eccentricity and form influences disparity vergence eye movements responses: A temporal and dynamic analysis

open access: yesJournal of Eye Movement Research, 2019
This study sought to investigate whether stimulation to the fovea or the parafovea with different color combinations influenced the temporal and dynamic features of 4° disparity vergence step responses.

Enhancing Surgical Efficiency and Cost‐Effectiveness With TaTME‐Combined Robot‐Assisted Surgery for Lower Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Robot‐assisted rectal surgery (RAS) offers improved dexterity and visualization; however, the high cost of equipment and consumables remains a major challenge for hospital management. At our institution, we have adopted a combined approach using transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) for lower rectal cancers, aiming to shorten ...
