Disruption of ARID1B Recruitment to the Nuclear Pore Complex as a New Anticancer Therapeutic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ARID1B as a chromatin‐bound driver of tumor growth in TNBC. ARID1B impairs ARID1A function and directly activates oncogenic programs through SWI/SNF remodeling. Its nuclear localization, mediated by the KPNA2–KPNB1–RANBP2 import machinery, is essential for its tumor‐promoting activity.

The Adjacency Matrix of One Type of Directed Graph and the Jacobsthal Numbers and Their Determinantal Representation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
Recently there is huge interest in graph theory and intensive study on computing integer powers of matrices. In this paper, we consider one type of directed graph. Then we obtain a general form of the adjacency matrices of the graph.

Recognizing Visibility Graphs of Polygons with Holes and Internal-External Visibility Graphs of Polygons

open access: yes, 2018
Visibility graph of a polygon corresponds to its internal diagonals and boundary edges. For each vertex on the boundary of the polygon, we have a vertex in this graph and if two vertices of the polygon see each other there is an edge between their ...

Comprehensive Characterization of Bihormonal Cells and Endocrine Cell Lineages in Mammalian Pancreatic Islets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates dual‐reporter genetics, imaging flow cytometry, and single‐cell sequencing to characterize rare bihormonal cells in mouse and human pancreatic islets. Gcg⁺Ins⁺ cells resemble α‐cells rather than transitional states. Cross‐species gene network analysis refines islet cell taxonomy and reveals human‐specific δ‐cell subtypes ...

PIEZO1‐GPX4 Axis Mediates Mechanical Stress‐Induced Vertebral Growth Plate Dysplasia via Ferroptosis Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical stress activates PIEZO1 in vertebral growth plate chondrocytes, triggering ferroptosis through direct binding and inhibition of GPX4. This axis promotes lipid peroxidation and pathological ossification, accelerating spinal deformities. Clinical and genetic evidence (Piezo1‐cKO) confirms its role in scoliosis progression.

AN EQUILIBRIUM SITUATION IN A PATROLLING GAME WITH A TRACKING CAMERA

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2015
Equilibrium situations in a problem of patrolling on a graph were obtained using game theory methods. The solution of the game was found for a graph modeling the flux of information from data source to sink.

Attenuated Nuclear Tension Regulates Progerin‐Induced Mechanosensitive Nuclear Wrinkling and Chromatin Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The premature aging‐related progerin leads to defective nuclear morphology and is associated with disrupted molecular coupling between the extranuclear cytoskeleton and lamin‐associated nuclear envelope. It is discovered that progerin expression reduces nuclear tension, forms nuclear wrinkling, and enhances chromatin dynamics, thereby regulating ...

Characterizing Block Graphs in Terms of their Vertex-Induced Partitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Given a finite connected simple graph $G=(V,E)$ with vertex set $V$ and edge set $E\subseteq \binom{V}{2}$, we will show that $1.$ the (necessarily unique) smallest block graph with vertex set $V$ whose edge set contains $E$ is uniquely determined by ...

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing Identifies MMP11+ Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts as Drivers of Angiogenesis and Bladder Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing identifies MMP11⁺ CAFs as pro‐angiogenic cells accumulating during bladder cancer progression. These cells promote angiogenesis by regulating ESM1⁺ tip endothelial cells and recruiting SPP1⁺ macrophages. Tumor‐derived BMP2 promotes their activation.

PCSK9 Loss‐of‐Function Disrupts Cellular Microfilament Network via LIN28A/HES5/JMY Axis in Neural Tube Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PCSK9 acts as a molecular chaperone promoting LIN28A lysosomal degradation. LIN28A elevates transcription factor HES5, increasing JMY expression. PCSK9 loss causes neural tube defects (NTDs) by disrupting the LIN28A/HES5/JMY axis, and high JMY disorganizes the neural progenitor cell microfilament network, leading to incomplete neural tube structure in ...
