Vertical Control During Molar Protraction Using Miniscrews

open access: yesJournal of Indian Orthodontic Society, 2019
The aim of this article was to introduce a new simplified method to control the vertical level and avoid canting of arches during molar protraction using skeletal anchorage.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The Influence of Control Law on Yaw Maneuver Load about Civil Aircraft

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2020
The fast and sharp deflection of rudder in aircraft maneuvering process can produce large aerodynamic loading on rudder and vertical fin, and transmit them to the rear fuselage, even cause the safety accident of reciprocated rudder pedalling of pilot ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Optimal control of the dengue dynamical transmission with vertical transmission

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
Dengue disease is found in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Dengue virus is the cause of dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever, and dengue shock syndrome. It consists of 4 serotypes: DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4.

Horizontal-Vertical-Rocking Coupled Response Analysis of Vertical Seismic Isolated Structure under Near-Fault Earthquakes

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
For vertical isolated structures with excessive vertical eccentricity for mass and vertical stiffness, horizontal-vertical-rocking response needs to be better understood for vertical isolated structures located in near-fault areas, where long-period ...

Multiobjective Synchronous Control of Heavy-Duty Vehicles Based on Longitudinal and Lateral Coupling Dynamics

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
The steering system, suspension system, and braking system of the vehicle are interrelated, so the ride comfort and handling stability of the vehicle are also closely related.

A regular sampling method based on the immediate mode for improving the stability of inverters

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
The shadow mode-based regular sampling methods are usually used in the digital control of power inverters, which introduce a control delay of one and a half sampling periods.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
