Optimal control of the dengue dynamical transmission with vertical transmission

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
Dengue disease is found in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Dengue virus is the cause of dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever, and dengue shock syndrome. It consists of 4 serotypes: DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4.

A regular sampling method based on the immediate mode for improving the stability of inverters

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
The shadow mode-based regular sampling methods are usually used in the digital control of power inverters, which introduce a control delay of one and a half sampling periods.

Vertical Position Control of INTOR Elongated Plasma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1986
Methods for suppression and control of the axisymmetric vertical positional instability are described on the basis of conceptural design studies with the International Tokamak Reactor (INTOR). The shell effect is well known to be useful for suppression of the fast instability.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Vertical Control and Parallel Trade under Asymmetric Information

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering Business Management, 2015
Parallel trade (PT) is a practice related to arbitrage operations in international trade. We provide a rationale for PT as an opportunistic behaviour by an international wholesaler who is privately informed about market demands in two countries where a ...

Control of the Active Suspension for In-Wheel Motor

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2013
This study raises a new electric wheel with active control of suspension for in-wheel motor. Proceeding from the reality, we made a simulation analysis on these four models: a sample car with no motor, a motor with fixed joint, and active/inactive ...

Control of maximal and submaximal vertical jumps [PDF]

open access: yesMedicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2000
It was investigated to what extent control signals used by human subjects to perform submaximal vertical jumps are related to control signals used to perform maximal vertical jumps.Eight subjects performed both maximal and submaximal height jumps from a static squatting position.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Subjective visual vertical and postural capability in children born prematurely. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
We compared postural stability and subjective visual vertical performance in a group of very preterm-born children aged 3-4 years and in a group of age-matched full-term children.A platform (from TechnoConcept) was used to measure postural control in ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
