On the geoid and orthometric height vs. quasigeoid and normal height
The geoid, but not the quasigeoid, is an equipotential surface in the Earth’s gravity field that can serve both as a geodetic datum and a reference surface in geophysics. It is also a natural zero-level surface, as it agrees with the undisturbed mean sea

Abstract The North American beaver (Castor canadensis) is expanding its distribution in the Arctic tundra. Due to the species' capacity to engineer ecosystems, they can transform surface water dynamics and biogeochemistry, permafrost stability, vegetation composition, and impact Indigenous subsistence practices.

Rapid ideal habitat selection in a homogeneous environment
Abstract Studies of density‐dependent habitat selection typically assess choices between two or more distinctly different habitat opportunities. Although such studies can clearly document habitat choice, they cannot unambiguously differentiate the effects of density from underlying differences in habitat and their associated cues for choosing some ...

From the reviews, a new concept of a low‐speed centrifugal pump (LSCP) driven by a vertical ultra‐low‐head hydro turbine (VULHT) was designed and tested on simulation and physical setup. It was performed with a 1.8 m delivery head, concluding as inefficient. For ultra‐low‐head conditions, different than centrifugal action is recommended.

Study on Reference Datum of Global Crustal Vertical Motion
AbstractThree methods to establish the vertical datum of the crustal motion are put forward and investigated. The systematic errors are calculated between some vertical velocity fields and the reference datum of vertical motion of the crust, and the reasons for the diversity of systematic errors are analyzed.

The Bilaspur region lies in a highly seismic zone, requiring special attention for infrastructure development like tunnel construction. Rock strength in the area is low, posing challenges for stable tunnel design. RMR values range from 21 to 30, categorizing the rock mass as Poor, requiring robust support measures.
