Micromechanical Characterization of 316L‐V4E Steel Transitions Produced by Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion with Dual‐Hopper Alternating Layer Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work applies High‐Speed Nanoindentation to study multi‐material transitions in powder bed fusion–electron beam melting components. The aim is to assess the mechanical gradients and interfacial behavior between American iron and steel institute 316L stainless steel and V4E tool steel in additively manufactured structures.

Determination of the comfort zone for intergingival height and its practical application to treatment planning: A survey

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2012
Background: The concept of the ′comfort zone′ for intergingival height is a simple guideline to help establish the correct vertical dimension necessary for occlusal harmony in any individual.

Identifying codes in vertex-transitive graphs and strongly regular graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the problem of computing identifying codes of graphs and its fractional relaxation. The ratio between the size of optimal integer and fractional solutions is between 1 and 2ln(vertical bar V vertical bar) + 1 where V is the set of vertices of

Fabrication‐Directed Entanglement for Designing Chiral and Anisotropic Metamaterial Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces fabrication‐directed entanglement (FDE), combining viscous thread printing and topology optimization to program entangled foams with spatially patterned stiffness. By tuning coil density, FDE enables anisotropy, programmable Poisson's ratio, and chirality in foams.

Determination of vertical dimension of occlusion using lateral profile photographs: A pilot study

open access: yesThe Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society, 2016
Purpose: To hypothesize a new theory based on soft tissue reference points on lateral profile photographs (LPPs) for determining the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO), as there is need to explore for simple strategies.

A new technique to determine vertical dimension of occlusion from anthropometric measurements of fingers.

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2013
PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to find the correlation between vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) and length of fingers. MATERIALS AND METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted on 400 dentate subjects comprising of 200 males and 200 ...

EU Competition Policy, Vertical Restraints, and Innovation: An Analysis from an Evolutionary Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
The EU competition policy in regard to vertical restraints is mainly based upon neoclassical efficiency-oriented reasonings, leading to a neglect of the innovation dimension.

On environments as systemic exoskeletons: Crosscutting optimizers and antifragility enablers

open access: yes, 2015
Classic approaches to General Systems Theory often adopt an individual perspective and a limited number of systemic classes. As a result, those classes include a wide number and variety of systems that result equivalent to each other.

Scalable Robotic Laser Texturing of Tilted Microanchors for Direction‐Independent Metal–Polymer Joining

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A robot‐assisted laser processing method is proposed that enables the formation of surface‐tilted microanchors on metal substrates to improve metal–polymer joining. Using a six‐axis robotic platform, the laser beam's incidence angle, scanning path, and interline pitch can be precisely controlled, allowing the deliberate overlap of heat‐affected zones ...
