Seawater Hydrogen-Ion Concentration: Vertical Distribution

Science, 1968
Two major processes that affect the vertical distribution of hydrogen-ion concentration in the sub-Arctic region of the northeastern Pacific Ocean are the apparent oxygen utilization by marine organisms and, to a lesser extent, carbonate dissolution.

Comparing two vertical plankton distributions

Limnology and Oceanography, 2000
Traditional statistical methods for testing for differences in vertical plankton distributions are invalid when the distributions are patchy. This note describes a modification of the Kolmogorov‐Smirnov test that is insensitive to patchiness. The modified test is applied to some data on day‐night differences in the vertical distribution of two ...

Vertical A-C. distribution networks

Electrical Engineering, 1931
With buildings from 500 to 1,000 ft. in height becoming common in large cities, load densities have increased to many times their former values. Vertical low-voltage networks supplied from transformers located on different floors of these high buildings, are well suited to cope with such extreme concentrations of load.

VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF ATMOSPHERIC OZONE

1953
Abstract : The history of the discovery and measurement of ozone in the atmosphere is described. Sounding balloon determinations made in 1949 were compared with the generally accepted standards of 1935. The total ozone concentration above 8 km was determined as 0.296 cm at standard temperature and pressure.

Vertical Distribution of Teredo norvegica

Nature, 1953
THE literature dealing with the wood-boring bivalve, Teredo, is extensive. The majority of investigations, however, have dealt with floating structures and little attention has been paid to the problem of vertical distribution. During a recent investigation into an attack of T.

Spatial Distribution of Vertical Shear

1981
Abstract : Spatial variations in small scale vertical shear in the upper ocean are described, relationships between small scale vertical shear and density stratification are investigated, and the potential for predicting mean vertical shear from measurements of the density field is assessed.

Vertical distribution of benthic fauna

1978
The zonation of the benthic fauna has been described by Por (1968). This author distinguished five main faunal zones (Fig. 121).
