A Classification Paradigm for Distributed Vertically Partitioned Data
Neural Computation, 2004In general, pattern classification algorithms assume that all the features are available during the construction of a classifier and its subsequent use. In many practical situations, data are recorded in different servers that are geographically apart, and each server observes features of local interest.

VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF MYCOSTASIS IN MALAYAN SOILS
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1966Using the cellulose-film method the distribution of mycostasis was examined in profiles from five differing soil types in Malaya. Soils were found to be inhibitory to the spores of Mucor ramannianus Möller to a depth of 360 cm, but waterlogged soils were less inhibitory than those which were drained.

Vertical Partitioning Algorithms in Distributed Databases
2000Data distribution is a crucial problem affecting the cost and efficient use of these systems. The problem is further exacerbated by the lack of methods and support tools for the design of distributed databases. This paper outlines some of the main techniques currently used for data distribution, such as vertical partitioning and replication.

The radiation distribution of antennæ in vertical planes
Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1930The radiation distribution of an antenna in a vertical plane was obtained by measuring in an aeroplane the strength of a received signal from an excited antenna on the ground. The position of the aeroplane relative to the antenna was obtained by means of a theodolite on the ground, the signal strength being recorded on a cinematograph film.Although the

Abstract A study is made of a series of daily ozone and temperature soundings taken at Albuquerque, N. Mex., in March 1965. In the lower stratosphere, the layer structure of ozone corresponds rather well to the layer structure of the thermal stability.

The Vertical Distribution of Heating in the Tropical Atmosphere
1992Abstract : The project is designed to achieve three major goals: (1) Assist the planning of TOGA COARE to optimize experimental design and measurement strategy, focusing on the larger scale arrays but paying particular attention to the problem of integrating the measurements from the arrays; (2) Participate in the TOGA COARE field program during the ...
