Turning Nd‐Fe‐B Swarf Into High‐Value Bulk Feedstocks via Sustainable Hydrogen Plasma: From Rare‐Earth Oxides to Metals and Hydrides

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidized Nd‐Fe‐B magnet swarf is transformed into valuable bulk feedstock through a single‐step hydrogen plasma process. The reaction converts complex rare‐earth‐containing waste into separated metallic, oxide, and hydride fractions without acid leaching.

2D Hierarchical Black Phosphorus‐Mn2O3 Heterostructured Composites for High‐Performance Flexible Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A sonochemical strategy constructs an ex situ 2D hierarchical black phosphorus–Mn2O3 heterostructure, enabling intimate interfacial coupling, enhanced charge transport, and improved electrochemical stability. The optimized BPM‐37.5% electrode delivers 466 F g−1 with 84% retention after 8000 cycles, while the flexible device exhibits high areal energy ...

Investigation of effects on the contact condition and the collision behaviour of a wheelset with a flat set on a roller rig by the shape at the edge of the wheel flat

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
We firstly executed bench tests of a bogie having the wheelset with a wheel flat installed on the roller rig. A wheel flat of 75 mm was prepared on the wheel tread and the front edge of the wheel flat was rounded by the grinding work.

Production of fine Sr-ferrite particles in a vertical stirred grinding mill under various grinding conditions

open access: yesJournal of Society of Materials Engineering for Resources of Japan, 2008
Grinding studies using a vertical stirred mill were carried out in order to produce fine Srferrite particles. Laboratory tests were conducted in dry and wet conditions, and dry condition using methanol as a grinding aid. The operational variables in the stirred mill were the grinding ball size, the feed mass of sample, and the volume of water (wet ...

Detection of grinding temperatures using laser irradiation and acoustic emission sensing technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a new method for the detection of grinding thermal behaviours using a laser irradiation technique. Laser irradiation was initially undertaken in the Lumonics JK704 Nd: YAG laser machine under mimic grinding conditions.

MXene‐Based Electrocatalysts for Sustainable Nitrogen Conversion: From Ammonia Oxidation to Nitrogen and Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review compares MXene‐based electrocatalysis for ammonia oxidation, nitrogen reduction, and nitrate reduction, highlighting reaction‐dependent differences in catalytic performance and stability. MXenes are generally more compatible with cathodic nitrogen and nitrate reduction, whereas anodic ammonia oxidation raises stability concerns.

3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...
