Demand patterns and vertical intra-industry trade with special reference to North-South trade [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of International Trade & Economic Development, 2002
Demand patterns have been considered important driving forces of intra-industry trade (IIT) ever since the emergence of IIT literature. The distribution of income within countries and per capita income differences between countries are regarded as major explanatory factors behind vertical IIT.

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

Ultra‐Thin Soft Pneumatic Actuation for Minimally Invasive Neural Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parylene C is a common polymer in bioelectronics, favored for its biological and chemical inertness. However, this makes bonding layers of Parylene C together very challenging. Here it is a laser to selectively weld layers of Parylene C to create high‐pressure fluidic actuation devices.

Overcoming the Trade‐Off Between Magnetic Coupling and Electrical Insulation in Soft Magnetic Materials via Nanochain Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a nanochain engineering approach combined with an in situ oxidation strategy to fabricate self‐insulating iron‐based magnetic nanochains, addressing the challenge of balancing magnetic coupling and electrical insulation in soft magnetic materials.

Trade Liberalization and Optimal Environmental Policies in Vertical Related Markets [PDF]

open access: yesParadigms, 2012
This paper establishes a symmetric two-country model with vertically related markets. In the downstream market, there is one firm in each country selling a homogeneous good, whose production generates pollution, to its home and the foreign markets a la ...

Ultrafast Multilevel Switching and Synaptic Behavior in a Planar Quantum Topological Memristor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dry‐transferred Bi2Te3 layers enable a planar quantum topological memristor framework. In‐plane topological surface states facilitate ultrafast & low‐power operations. Coexisting analog and digital modes support current‐controlled multilevel states. PQTM exhibits 105 s retention, 103 cycles endurance, and reproducibility across 24 devices.

Income Disparity, Vertical Intra-industry Trade, and Welfare in Integration

open access: yesProcedia Economics and Finance, 2013
AbstractThis paper constructs an intra-industry trade model with vertical product differentiation and considers a free- trade region where two countries of different income levels to investigate the welfare effects of falling trade costs. It shows that the trade patterns are affected by the income disparity of integrated countries. Moreover, this study

Determinants of intra-industry agri-food trade in the Visegrad countries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The article analyses patterns and country-specific determinants of Visegrad Countries’ agri-food trade with the European Union. Literature focusing on the country-specific determinants of vertical and horizontal intra-industry trade is rather limited and
