Vertical Loads on Drag Embedment Anchors
Offshore Technology Conference, 1994ABSTRACT As industry moves into deeper water and economical solutions for mooring systems are sought, anchor systems capable of withstanding vertical loads are needed. Current industry standards and API recommendations constrain a mooring line to be tangent to the seabed when a drag embedment anchor is used.

External Loads on Vertically Mounted Equipment
1984Heat exchangers and pressure vessels are frequently mounted vertically to economize plant floor space. In some cases, the process function of the hardware requires vertical installation. For example, gravity driven boiling in a thermosiphon reboiler, or fractionation in a distillation column, can proceed only if the equipment is vertically installed ...

Elastic strings under vertical loads
ZAMP Zeitschrift fr angewandte Mathematik und Physik, 1983The author analyzes the nonlinear equation of an elastic string subject to a symmetrical vertical load \(p(s)=p(-s)\) and a stress strain law \(T=f(e)\) when either u (the horizontal displacement) or T (the stress) is prescribed at both ends. As the second problem, the stress problem, poses no serious problem the author concentrates on the first ...

Analysis of vertically loaded pile groups
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1986AbstractAn approach is presented for the analysis of linear and non‐linear responses of vertically loaded pile groups. The soil behaviour of individual piles in modelled using load‐transfer curves and the pile‐soil‐pile interaction is determined based on Mindlin's solution. Good agreement between the present method of analysis and the rigorous boundary

A Method for Estimating the Vertical Load of Tires
2019The vertical load of tire affects the lateral force and longitudinal force of the tire, thus affecting the longitudinal dynamic characteristics and lateral dynamic characteristics of the vehicle. In vehicle dynamics control, real-time and accurate estimation of wheel vertical load is the basis for calculating other important vehicle motion state ...
