Electron density retrieval from truncated Radio Occultation GNSS data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper summarizes the definition and validation of two complementary new strategies, to invert incomplete Global Navigation Satellite System Radio-Occultation (RO) ionospheric measurements, such as the ones to be provided by the future EUMETSAT Polar

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

The Radiation Transfer at a Layer of Magnetized Plasma With Random Irregularities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The problem of radio wave reflection from an optically thick plane monotonous layer of magnetized plasma is considered at present work. The plasma electron density irregularities are described by spatial spectrum of an arbitrary form.

Studying the Parameters of Frequency Dispersion for Radio Links of Different Length Using Software‐Defined Radio Based Sounding System

open access: yesRadio Science, 2019
Methods and relevant software were developed to study frequency dispersion parameters of wideband high‐frequency (HF) radio channels over propagation paths of different lengths: near vertical incidence skywave paths (up to 500 km) and long‐distance radio

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Comparison of Radiosonde Measurements of Meteorological Variables with Drone, Satellite Products, and WRF Simulations in the Tropical Andes: The Case of Quito, Ecuador

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
Radiosondes are the most widely used method for studies of vertical atmospheric behavior, but the high costs associated, and the logistic limitations have forced researchers to look for alternative methods for atmospheric profiling, such as lidar and ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Outbreak of Negative Narrow Bipolar Events in Two Mid-Latitude Thunderstorms Featuring Overshooting Tops

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Lightning discharges are the electrical production in thunderclouds. They radiate the bulk of radio signals in the very low-frequency and low-frequency (VLF/LF) that can be detected by ground-based receivers.
