Beyond the Classroom: How Community College Websites in Texas Communicate Dual Enrollment Information and Student Support Services

open access: yesNew Directions for Community Colleges, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dual enrollment (DE) has expanded rapidly, yet students’ access to support services remains uneven. This study examined 55 community college websites in Texas to evaluate how clearly and comprehensively they presented DE information and communicated student support services.

Take-off trajectory optimization of vertical take off and landing UAV

2017 36th Chinese Control Conference (CCC), 2017
In this paper, the take-off trajectory optimization problem for a new vertical takeoff and landing(VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) is studied. The longitudinal kinematics equation and dynamics equation are established with atmospheric density, earth gravity, engine thrust and aerodynamic parameter.

Landing, perching and taking off from vertical surfaces

The International Journal of Robotics Research, 2011
An approach is presented whereby small, unmanned aircraft can land on walls. The approach is demonstrated with a plane that uses an ultrasonic sensor to initiate a pitch-up maneuver as it flies toward a wall. The plane contacts the wall with spines that engage asperities on the surface.

Vertical take off and landing with fixed rotor

2017 CHILEAN Conference on Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies (CHILECON), 2017
This article shows development of a fixed wing Unmanned Aerial Vechicle (UAV) prototype with multi rotor control system. This model pretends increase flight time of multi rotor system using aerodynamic characteristics. The lift force generated by a wing reduce the required power of the motors to raise up the structure during horizontal forward flight ...
