To study the role of hemodynamic stresses in microvascular network remodeling, a ligation strategy was developed to locally alter pressure and wall strain throughout the microvessel network of a single mesentery window. Additionally, a network model was developed to calculate the pre- and post-ligation pressures throughout the affected mesenteric ...

We hypothesized that a "culprit" lesion in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) should have low overall vessel lumen and plaque density on multidetector computed tomography-assisted coronary angiography (MDCTA) because of lower calcification and the presence of occlusive thrombus.

Vessel Density Mapping of Cerebral Small Vessels on 3D High Resolution Black Blood MRI
2023Abstract Cerebral small vessels are largely inaccessible to existing clinical in vivo imaging technologies. This study aims to present a novel analysis pipeline for vessel density mapping of cerebral small vessels from high-resolution 3D black-blood MRI at 3T.

Blood vessel density in canine osteosarcoma.
Canadian journal of veterinary research = Revue canadienne de recherche veterinaire, 1998Canine osteosarcoma is a prevalent bone neoplasm which has similarities to the human disease. We used a retrospective study to investigate the possibility that tumor vascularity may provide useful prognostic information, indicative of the role of this parameter in progression of this cancer.

A culture vessel for maintaining cells at high density
Journal of Tissue Culture Methods, 1994The Sykes-Moore and Rose chambers have been used for many years in time lapse studies of subconfluent cell cultures. Unfortunately, use of a Sykes-Moore chamber for the time lapse studies of cells maintained at very high cell density was found to be unsatisfactory even if a medium perfusion system was employed.

AbstractObjective Microvessel density (MVD) has been studied as a prognostic marker in human cancers. Quantification of lymphatic vessel density (LVD) is now possible by using new antibodies. Expression of the lymphangiogenic growth factors, VEGF‐C and VEGF‐D, is associated with poorer clinicopathological outcomes in various tumours.

Valsalva Maneuver and Peripapillary OCT Angiography Vessel Density
Journal of Glaucoma, 2018Purpose: To investigate the potential influence of breath holding on the results of peripapillary vessel density (VD) measurement with optical coherence tomography angiography. Materials and Methods: Three peripapillary VD measurements were made at 2-minute intervals on the right ...

Doppler Histogram Vessel Density Analysis
2013Three-dimensional (3D) sonography and power Doppler angiography have been introduced recently as important sonographic diagnostic tools as discussed in Chap. 5. With Virtual Organ Computer-Aided Analysis (VOCAL) software, the following vascularity indices can be calculated automatically: the vascularization index (VI), flow index (FI), and ...

Increased gingival blood vessel density in SLE patients.
Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 2012Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a serious multisystem disease with a variety of cutaneous and oral manifestations. It is an autoimmune disorder whereby patients develop autoantibodies to many of their cells, cell components, and tissue. The microvascular changes in SLE play a role in the pathogenesis of this disease.
