Journal of Anatomy, EarlyView.The study investigates the shape of the semicircular canals in the inner ear of three sister mole species—Talpa europaea, Talpa aquitania, and Talpa occidentalis—using geometric morphometrics on 58 specimens. It finds both interspecific and intraspecific variability in canal morphology, but no evidence of sexual dimorphism.
