The Olive Oil Mill as Circular Hub

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 128, Issue 9, September 2026.
Olive oil production generates large amounts of by‐products at every stage of the production process. The olive mill can be considered a circular hub, where such by‐products are valorized through a cascade approach that first recovers valuable compounds and then converts the remaining biomass into renewable energy.

Pengaruh Nilai pH dan Nilai Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA) terhadap Kemantapan Lateks Pekat

open access: yes, 2009
One of the analysis parameters that was decisive to receive high-quality concentrate latex was the pH value and the Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA). The pH value and the Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA) really influence the quality latex. The pH Value in range alkaly

Patient measurements using the corrected 2D VFA method.

open access: yes, 2014
(a) T1-map of a multiple sclerosis patient at 7T using the corrected 2D VFA method. The map shows three periventricular lesions (white arrows). Mean T1 of the lesions was (2758±615)ms vs. (1842±62)ms in the surrounding white matter.

Polyhydroxyalkanoate as Next Generation Bioplastics for Sustainability and Circular Energy Management

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Circular system converting wastewater sludge (WWS) into PHA bioplastics via acidification and MMC biosynthesis. System highlights LCA framework, showing GWP trade‐offs against fossil plastics and costs of $3–5/kg PHA, ultimately achieving lower carbon footprints and resource recovery for a sustainable bioeconomy.

Physicochemical properties, fermentative profile, microbiological quality, and pathogen contamination of baled silage during long‐term storage

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 12, Page 7454-7463, September 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Baled silage is expanding in Mediterranean regions due to climate change and demand for high‐quality forage; therefore, evaluating the effects of long‐term storage on microbiological and fermentative quality is essential. RESULTS In this study, 115 baled silages were sampled from different farms at 30, 60, 90, 180, and 270 days ...

A Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting Approach for Simultaneous T1‐ and PRFS‐Based 3D MR‐Thermometry

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1274-1282, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate a three dimensional dual echo magnetic resonance fingerprinting sequence for simultaneous proton resonance frequency shift (PRFS) and T1 thermometry during microwave ablation with T1 improving robustness near gas bubble induced susceptibility changes while PRFS provides high precision elsewhere.

Two‐Stage Anaerobic Digestion of Sugarcane Vinasse: A Bibliometric Analysis of Research Trends and Gaps

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 36, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Sugarcane vinasse, a by‐product of bioethanol production, poses a significant environmental challenge due to its high organic load and the large volumes generated. Anaerobic digestion (AD) has been widely explored as an alternative treatment, particularly in two‐stage configurations that can enhance methane recovery.

Dietary Supplementation of Olive Pomace in Lactating Buffaloes: Effects on Milk and Yogurt Composition and Fatty Acid Profile

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Olive pomace in lactating buffaloes: Fifteen lactating buffaloes were fed with 0%, 7.5%, and 15% olive pomace substituted with wheat flour for 45 days. Replacing olive pomace with wheat flour in the diet of lactating buffaloes increased milk fat, the concentration of short‐chain and unsaturated fatty acids, and conjugated fatty acids.

Titrimetric Monitoring Of Anaerobic Digestion: VFA, Alkalinities and

open access: yes, 2008
Volatile fatty acids and bicarbonate measurements are important to assess a digester’s stability and to control it. Titration methods are the most likely cost-effective methods to determine those variables with acceptable accuracy.
