Fatigue Design Curves for Industrial Applications: A Review

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 1001-1021, March 2025.
ABSTRACT In the present paper, a review on the design curves for safe–life fatigue design is provided. The methodologies available in the literature for the assessment of the strain–life and stress–life design curves have been analyzed, focusing also on the industrial practice for the design of critical components.

Very HIgh Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) behavior of high strength alloys [Elektronisk resurs] : A literature review

open access: yes, 2023
Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) response of metallic materials is considered of significance importance, particularly for high- demanding applications. Since it is proved that most of the engineering materials do not exhibit a conventional fatigue limit ...

High-frequency cyclic testing of welded aluminium alloy joints in the region of very high cycle fatigue (VHCF)

open access: yes, 2022
S.120-130In the present investigation high-frequency fatigue tests on welded specimens with trimmed surfaces were carried out by means of an ultrasonic fatigue testing system (UFTS). The wave-like distribution of the load amplitude along the longitudinal

Microstructure Study on Very High Cycle Fatigue of an Additively Manufactured Aluminium Alloy via Advanced Characterization Methods

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The engineering application of additively manufactured (AM) metallic materials is quite limited by their fatigue behaviors, which are very inconsistent with that of conventionally wrought or cast ones.
