Vibration Analysis and Experimental Study of Simply-supported Concrete Beam Under Fire Based on Dynamic Test

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2018
In order to study the vibration characteristics of reinforced concrete (RC) structures during fire and to develop the method of damage assessment after fire, 4 simply-supported RC beams (L1~L4) were designed.

Experimental Study on the Vibration Characteristics of a Wave-Induced Oscillation Heaving Plate Energy Capture Device

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In order to develop green energy, reduce carbon emissions, and alleviate global warming and the green energy crisis, many researchers focus on wave energy, using a device to convert wave energy into electricity.

From Food to Power: Hydrogel Thermoelectrics for Ingestible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a fully edible thermoelectric–electrochromic platform that harvests heat from food and converts it into a visible color change. N‐type and p‐type hydrogel thermoelectric generators connected in series power anthocyanin‐based electrochromic displays, demonstrating the feasibility of safe, biodegradable, ingestible systems for on‐food ...

Role of Intrinsic Electron Trapping in Negative Charging of Amorphous Alumina

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intrinsic electron trapping in amorphous Al2O3 is examined using hybrid‐DFT models spanning a wide density range. Both spontaneous and thermally activated trapping are identified, with pronounced spontaneous localization in dense, partly crystallized structures.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Subjective and biodynamic responses of seated subjects exposed to whole-body vertical vibration at low frequency

open access: yes, 2014
As the magnitude of vertical whole-body vibration increases, the resonance frequency in the apparent mass of the human body reduces and there are changes in the frequency-dependence of acceleration equivalent comfort contours.

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Damage detection in suspension bridges using vibration characteristics

open access: yes, 2015
This research developed a method to detect damage in suspension bridges using vibration characteristics. These bridges exhibit complex vibration and hence it is difficult to use traditional vibration based methods to detect damage in them.

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS OF THERMALLY CYCLED GRAPHENE NANOPLATELET (GNP) REINFORCED 3D-FIBER METAL LAMINATES (3D-FML)

open access: yes, 2019
Conference PaperHarsh environmental conditions may cause materials to degrade and eventually fail, or even worse, it can be coupled with undesirable vibrations in mechanical systems, resulting in premature failure of the system.
