Review of Bubble Column Reactors with Vibration

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2016
Vibrating a bubble column reactor can increase the gas holdup (void fraction), as well the mass-transfer rate. Since the seminal work in the 1960s, there has been minimal effort focused on this topic until the early 2000s. Currently there are several groups studying this problem making advancements in our fundamental understanding of the process with ...

Free Vibration of Stochastic Beam-Column

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1971
The mean and variance of n th natural frequency of a beam-column are obtained by a perturbation method when the material and geometric properties, the axial load, and the boundary conditions are probabilistic. The realtive effects of uncertainty in input parameters such as axial load and structural properties with uncertainty in output parameters of ...

AMBIENT VIBRATIONAL ANALYSIS OF AURELIANA COLUMN

2014
The results of ambient vibration survey of Aureliana Column in Rome are shown. The objective of this analysis was the characterization of the dynamic behavior of the monument and the comparison with the results obtained with similar studies about 30 years ago, but with older instruments and data analysis methods.

Investigation on nonlinear coupled vibration of columns.

2011
The oscillation of a column subjected to periodic axial end excitation was analytically and experimentally investigated. The initial crookedness of the column and the longitudinal inertia of a column element give rise to coupled, longitudinal-flexural oscillations. A snap-thru phenomenon and complex subharmonics of natural flexural modes of oscillation

Dynamic Stability of Axially Vibrating Columns

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1964
In the axial motion of an elastic column slight imperfections may cause development of flexure through interaction of the pulsating axial force with flexural curvature. The conditions required for flexural growth to occur are given. Flexural modes of rather high order may be strongly excited with almost all of the original energy being transferred into

Ambient vibration analysis of the aureliana column

2014
With the objective of characterizing the dynamic behavior of the Aureliana Column in Rome and evaluating its health status, an ambient vibration survey of the monument was carried out by using nine Kinemetrics seismometers SS-1 connected to one Kinemetrics K2 recorder. Data were analyzed both in time and frequency domain.
