Turning Water Into a Tool: From Degradation Pathways to Functional Engineering in Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Water exhibits a threshold‐dependent dual role in lead halide perovskites, acting either as a degradation trigger or as a powerful tool for defect passivation, recrystallization, and structural engineering. This review discusses how controlled water‐mediated interactions govern stability, dimensionality, and optoelectronic performance, providing ...

Research on the Influence of the Stroke of the Pressing-Up Cylinder of Rolling Mills on Vibration Characteristics

open access: yes
Purpose In order to analyze the on-site phenomenon that the 20-high rolling mill is prone to vibration when the diameter of the roll system is small, the influence of the elongation of the piston rod and the height of the hydraulic oil column on the ...

A study on Vibration Characteristics of Steel Portal Framed Structures of Slip-Type Exposed Column-Bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
application/pdfSteel buildings generally use anchor-bolt-yield-type exposed column-base, which shows slip-type restoring force characteristics. Anchor bolts show slip phenomena and fixed rigidity of the columnbase deteriorates.

Shaken, not stirred, bubble column reactors: enhancement of mass transfer by vibration excitement

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper we discuss the advantages of a bubble column reactor, wherein the liquid phase is subjected to low-frequency vibrations. A special device, called a vibration exciter, mounted at the bottom of the bubble column, transmits the vibration to ...

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).

Modeling of concrete dwellings based on results from ambient vibration tests

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Based on both ambient vibration measurements and numerical models using the wide-column analogy and the finite element method, vibrations periods of low-rise concrete dwellings are estimated in this study.

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

Impact-induced vibrations of a simple viscoelastic column model

open access: yes, 1983
A two-degree-of-freedom model for an almost-axially impacted viscoelastic cantilever column is analyzed. The impact load is produced by a mass striking the free end of the column.

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.
