Study of Transformer Core Vibration and Noise Generation Mechanism Induced by Magnetostriction of Grain-Oriented Silicon Steel Sheet

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
The problem of vibration and noise in the iron core of power transformers remains quite topical. Insofar as the state-of-the-art iron core and binding production adopt the lamination method and weft-free adhesive tape, respectively, the transformer core ...

Strategies for increasing the operating frequency range of vibration energy harvesters: a review

open access: yes, 2010
This paper reviews possible strategies to increase the operational frequency range of vibration-based micro-generators. Most vibration-based micro-generators are spring-mass-damper systems which generate maximum power when the resonant frequency of the ...

Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify

Damping mechanism of noise damped wheel for high-speed railway vehicles

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the damping mechanism of the wheel that we have developed. In high-speed railway vehicles, noise associated with speed increase is a problem.

The design and development of a spacecraft appendage tie down mechanism [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The design and evolution is described of a spacecraft Appendage Tie Down Mechanism (ATDM). Particular emphasis is paid to the mechanical aspects of using dry lubricants to increase the efficiency of acme threads and worm gearing.

Heap Formation in Granular Media

open access: yes, 1993
Using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, we find the formation of heaps in a system of granular particles contained in a box with oscillating bottom and fixed sidewalls.

Time resolved particle dynamics in granular convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present an experimental study of the movement of individual particles in a layer of vertically shaken granular material. High-speed imaging allows us to investigate the motion of beads within one vibration period.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Model-Based Analysis of Flow Separation Control in a Curved Diffuser by a Vibration Wall

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Vibration wall control is an important active flow control technique studied by many researchers. Although current researches have shown that the control performance is greatly affected by the frequency and amplitude of the vibration wall, the mechanism ...

Vibration of ZnO nanotubes: a molecular mechanics approach

open access: yesApplied Physics A, 2010
We investigate the vibrational properties of two kinds of single-wall ZnO nanotubes. The simulations are carried out for three types of zigzag nanotubes (5,0), (8,0), (10,0) and armchair nanotubes (3,3), (4,4), (6,6). The natural frequencies are determined by means of the molecular mechanics approach with the universal force field potential.
