Double stiffness vibration suppressor and energy harvester: An experimental study

Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2019
Abstract In this study, a nonlinear electromechanical vibration suppressor and energy harvester are investigated. In doing so, by changing support of cantilever beam, which is used as the dynamic vibration absorber, the double stiffness system is introduced.

Application of nonlinear magnetic vibro-impact vibration suppressor and energy harvester

open access: yesMechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2018
Abstract In the present study, application of a single unit vibro-impact system is improved. For this reason, in the so-called “magnetic impact damper” the impact mass is replaced by a permanent magnet, which moves in coil of gap enclosure. In the magnetic impact damper, wasting energy during inelastic contacts of masses and converting energy into ...

Noise and vibration suppressors

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006
In order to form a noise suppressor in a hose of e.g. a motor vehicle, modular portions are connected in series to define suppression chambers with particular noise suppression characteristics. Those characteristics are due to the volume of each chamber, to the size of the apertures from the chambers to the central duct of the suppressor, and ...
