Mechanism study and design of electrodynamic vibration suppressor
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2014In this paper, an electrodynamic vibration suppressor is proposed that can be used to suppress the main component of structural vibrations. This suppressor includes three main parts: an electrodynamic actuator, a power amplifier and a vibration controller. The intrinsic characteristics of the electrodynamic actuator were studied.

Ultrafast multistability in miniature photomechanical vibration suppressors
SPIE Proceedings, 1996It is well known that light has the ability to carry large amounts of information by virtue of its high intrinsic bandwidth and transmission speed. We report on a new class of mechanical fiber devices that are powered by light. In particular, we show that a sensor, logic unit, and actuator function can be built into a mesoscopic polymer optical fiber ...

A MIMO vibration suppression system with multi electrodynamic suppressors
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2016A multi-in-multi-out (MIMO) electrodynamic vibration suppression system based on global-local control strategy is established in this paper. The system has a structure composed of an upper layer and a lower layer. The lower layer employs a MIMO vibration suppression algorithm to suppress local vibration by using several eclectrodynamic vibration ...

Vortex-induced vibration (VIV) is a self-excited and self-limited flow-induced vibration phenomenon of importance for both the academic and the technological communities. Particularly for the offshore engineering scenario, VIV plays an important role in the structural fatigue analysis. Hence, VIV suppression is a relevant topic.

STRING VIBRATION SUPPRESSOR FOR COMPOUND ARCHERY BOWS
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012A vibration dampening device for use on compound archery bows. A device may be associated with one or more bow limb, with each device disposing a vibration damping bumper in position to shorten the vibrating length of the bow string at brace, compared to the vibrating length of a bow string of a comparable bow lacking the device(s). Certain embodiments

Dynamic analysis of periodic vibration suppressors with multiple secondary oscillators
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2018Abstract A periodic vibration suppressor with multiple secondary oscillators is examined in this paper to reduce the low-frequency vibration. The band-gap properties of infinite periodic structure and vibration transmission properties of finite periodic structure attached with secondary oscillators with arbitrary degree of freedom are thoroughly ...

A SMART INTERNAL VIBRATION SUPPRESSOR FOR A HELICOPTER BLADEāA FEASIBILITY STUDY
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1998Abstract The concept of a vibration suppression device mounted inside the rotor blade of a helicopter is evaluated. Two problems are considered. First, the possibility of reducing the vibration level by applying generic/non-specific dynamic loads is examined.
