Charge State Influence on Stability and Isomerism in Dehydrogenated PAHs: Insights from Anthracene, Acridine, and Phenazine

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The ionization of anthracene, acridine, and phenazine has been explored, along with the removal of one and two hydrogen atoms, to provide valuable information for astrochemists and to understand the behavior of the resulting structures and their electronic reorganization. Abstract In this study, we systematically explored the stability and isomerism of

Energy Landscapes in Chemical Reactions and Transport

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Kinetics/dynamics of chemical reactivity and transport of chemical species in a solid are both determined by the energy landscape in which they take place. Discussing common grounds but also distinct differences may help in advancing the understanding in both fields.

A Dynamic Business Modeling Approach to Port Sustainability: The Western Sicily Port Authority Case

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ports are critical nodes in global trade and economic development, yet they generate substantial environmental and social externalities—including greenhouse gas emissions, air, noise, and water pollution, and adverse impacts on host communities—that demand integrated and forward‐looking governance.

Ultrasonic Leaching of Urania-Impregnated Graphite Fuels [PDF]

open access: yes, 1961
The proposed use of unclad, urania-impregnated graphite fuel elements in experimental and power reactors raised the question of how best to reprocess the elements after irradiation. A grind-leach process using boiling nitric acid was previously suggested

Iron and Nickel Substituted Perovskite Cobaltites for Sustainable Oxygen Evolving Anodes in Alkaline Environment

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Perovskite oxide catalysts with reduced Co content, substituted by Fe and Ni, are synthesized and studied for their activity in the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline media. An increase in the intrinsic catalytic activity (obtained by the (RctCdl)−1 product) of the base material (Ba0.5Gd0.8La0.7Co2O6‐δ) is seen for an as high as 70 % substitution of

Mixed‐Impurity Co‐Poisoning of NH3‐SCR Catalysts: Poisoning Mechanisms, Antagonistic Effects, and Anti‐Inactivation Strategies

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the synergistic effects of mixed impurities on ammonia‐selective catalytic reduction (NH3‐SCR) catalysts, including the poisoning mechanism of the catalyst caused by mixed impurities, the antagonistic effects between the impurities, and the research on the anti‐poisoning strategies for the catalyst in recent years.

Low‐Temperature in Situ Upgrading of Ultra‐Deep Heavy Oil Using Ni–Ce/MOF–OTf Superacid Catalysts to Enhance Energy Utilization and Sustainability

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
A triflate‐functionalized Ni–Ce/MOF–OTf superacid enables low‐temperature (∼140°C) in situ upgrading of ultra‐deep heavy oil. It reduces viscosity by 92.11% in 12 h, maintains activity over cycles, and delivers 90.25% recovery with a lower carbon footprint by selective bond cleavage. ABSTRACT Ultra‐deep heavy oil is an important unconventional resource,
