Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

Pile Driving Effects on Nearby Building [PDF]
Piles are used to support many major structures such as buildings and bridges. It is known that pile driving activity creates vibrations in the ground and may affect nearby building and structure.

INTERACTION OF THE PILE AND SURROUNDING SOIL DURING VIBRATORY PILE DRIVING
Subject: a computational scheme of the bottom of deep foundation for analyzing vibrations of the “pile-heavy foundation” system is proposed. It is shown that, in this case, accounting for inertial forces of the pile and friction along the lateral surface of the pile leads to a non-periodic (non-harmonic) damped oscillation of the deep foundation ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Decommissioning of offshore piles using vibration [PDF]
This paper reports on an investigation of the feasibility of decommissioning offshore tubular piles with vibration. A series of 1g model pile tests using a scaled vibration source and a 400mm long open-ended steel pile were conducted in loose and dense ...
