[Accepted Manuscript] Galleria mellonella is low cost and suitable surrogate host for studying virulence of human pathogenic Vibrio cholerae. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Vibrio cholerae causes a severe diarrheal disease affecting millions of people worldwide, particularly in low income countries. V. cholerae successfully persist in aquatic environment and its pathogenic strains results in sever enteric disease in humans.

Characterization of Restriction Endonucleases from Vibrio cholerae non O1

open access: yesFood Hygiene and Safety Science (Shokuhin Eiseigaku Zasshi), 1994
Fourteen restriction endonucleases (ENases) were found by screening of 118 O antigen reference strains of Vibrio cholerae. Ten of these ENases were partially purified and classified into eight specificity categories. All of them were isoschizomers of already-known ENases.

Ecología de Vibrio cholerae en relación al Fitoplancton y variables fisicoquímicas en ríos de Tucumán (Argentina) Ecology of Vibrio cholerae in relation to phytoplankton and physico-chemical variables in rivers of Tucumán (Argentina)

A Case of Vibrio cholerae Non-O1 Septicemia with Liver Cirrhosis

open access: yesJournal of the Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases, 1992
A case of Vibrio cholerae non-O1 septicemia is described in this paper. A 45-year-old male with a three year history of liver cirrhosis, was admitted to our division with hematemesis, abdominal pain, high fever and a loss of consciousness. Natural transformation of Vibrio cholerae as a tool - Optimizing the procedure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background Vibrio cholerae gains natural competence upon growth on chitin. This allows the organism to take up free DNA from the environment and to incorporate it into its genome by homologous recombination.
