Spatial-Aided Low-Delay Wyner-Ziv Video Coding

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2009
In distributed video coding, the side information (SI) quality plays an important role in Wyner-Ziv (WZ) frame coding. Usually, SI is generated at the decoder by the motion-compensated interpolation (MCI) from the past and future key frames under the ...

Optimized viewport‐adaptive 360‐degree video streaming

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, 2021
Because of the rapid growth of head‐mounted displays and 5G networking deployment, 360‐degree video has become increasingly popular. To generate the real experience of a virtual environment, 360‐degree videos require an ultrahigh resolution and frame ...

A dataset of labelled objects on raw video sequences

open access: yesData in Brief, 2021
We present an object labelled dataset called SFU-HW-Objects-v1, which contains object labels for a set of raw video sequences. The dataset can be useful for the cases where both object detection accuracy and video coding efficiency need to be evaluated ...

A Convolutional Neural Network Approach for Half-Pel Interpolation in Video Coding

open access: yes, 2017
Motion compensation is a fundamental technology in video coding to remove the temporal redundancy between video frames. To further improve the coding efficiency, sub-pel motion compensation has been utilized, which requires interpolation of fractional ...

Enabling error-resilient internet broadcasting using motion compensated spatial partitioning and packet FEC for the dirac video codec [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Video transmission over the wireless or wired network require protection from channel errors since compressed video bitstreams are very sensitive to transmission errors because of the use of predictive coding and variable length coding. In this paper, a

Multi-loop quality scalability based on high efficiency video coding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Scalable video coding performance largely depends on the underlying single layer coding efficiency. In this paper, the quality scalability capabilities are evaluated on a base of the new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard under development.

An H.264/AVC to SVC TemporalTranscoder in baseline profile: digest of technical papers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Scalable Video Coding provides temporal, spatial and quality scalability using layers within the encoded bitstream. This feature allows the encoded bitstream to be adapted to different devices and heterogeneous networks.

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
