Story2Board: A Training‐Free Approach for Expressive Visual Storytelling

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We present Story2Board, a training‐free framework for expressive storyboard generation from natural language. Existing methods narrowly focus on subject identity, overlooking key aspects of visual storytelling such as spatial composition, background evolution, and narrative pacing.

DPC-VQA: Decoupling Quality Perception and Residual Calibration for Video Quality Assessment

open access: yesCoRR
Recent multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have shown promising performance on video quality assessment (VQA) tasks. However, adapting them to new scenarios remains expensive due to large-scale retraining and costly mean opinion score (MOS) annotations.

Talking to the Brain: Using Large Language Models as Proxies to Model Brain Semantic Features

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 10, July 2026.
We introduce a novel paradigm using LLMs to map the brain's semantic space with greater ecological validity. This provides a robust framework for integrating naturalistic fMRI data and reveals a hierarchically organized semantic similarity space across the cerebral cortex.

MDS-VQA: Model-Informed Data Selection for Video Quality Assessment

open access: yesCoRR
Learning-based video quality assessment (VQA) has advanced rapidly, yet progress is increasingly constrained by a disconnect between model design and dataset curation. Model-centric approaches often iterate on fixed benchmarks, while data-centric efforts collect new human labels without systematically targeting the weaknesses of existing VQA models ...

Generative Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in Clinical Oncology

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
By integrating multimodal data, including medical imaging, pathology, omics, and electronic health records, generative AI and LLMs support cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow‐up management. These technologies also enhance physician–patient communication, improve personalized treatment strategies, and leverage intelligent agent automation ...

Crayons × Code: Re‐Exploring Children's Drawings With Multimodal AI and Dynamic Ethics

open access: yesArea, Volume 58, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Children's drawings are used to study their environmental perception, but AI‐powered analysis of these visual materials remains underexplored. This paper re‐explores the use of children's drawings as a tool for understanding their perceptions of the environment, leveraging multimodal AI for analysis.

Spatio-temporal ssim index for video quality assessment

open access: yes, 2012
An ideal objective metric for video quality assessment (VQA) should achieve consistency between video distortion prediction and psychological perception of human visual system (HVS), and is important in many video processing applications.

HIDRO-VQA: High Dynamic Range Oracle for Video Quality Assessment

open access: yes2024 IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision Workshops (WACVW)
We introduce HIDRO-VQA, a no-reference (NR) video quality assessment model designed to provide precise quality evaluations of High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos. HDR videos exhibit a broader spectrum of luminance, detail, and color than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) videos.

Artificial Intelligence in Autonomous Mobile Robot Navigation: From Classical Approaches to Intelligent Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping autonomous mobile robot navigation beyond classical pipelines. This review analyzes how AI techniques are integrated into core navigation tasks, including path planning and control, localization and mapping, perception, and context‐aware decision‐making. Learning‐based, probabilistic, and soft‐computing methods

RGC-VQA: An Exploration Database for Robotic-Generated Video Quality Assessment

open access: yesProceedings of the 33rd ACM International Conference on Multimedia
As camera-equipped robotic platforms become increasingly integrated into daily life, robotic-generated videos have begun to appear on streaming media platforms, enabling us to envision a future where humans and robots coexist. We innovatively propose the concept of Robotic-Generated Content (RGC) to term these videos generated from egocentric ...
