Benford's Law in Basic RNN and Long Short‐Term Memory and Their Associations

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 6, Issue 3, October 2025.
This work examines neural networks from a novel perspective, demonstrating two key findings as proof of concept: (1) Benford's Law is present in neural network weights, and (2) higher‐accuracy models exhibit stronger conformity to Benford's Law. ABSTRACT Benford's Law describes the distribution of numerical patterns, specifically focusing on the ...

Characterizing Natural Adversarial Examples Through Activation Map Analysis

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This work proposes an analysis of activation maps to compare the behaviour of original images and different kinds of adversarial examples, both artificial and natural. For this purpose, different metrics are extracted from the activation heatmap, such as mean pixel values, centroid distance or reference image quality metrics.
