Characterizing Natural Adversarial Examples Through Activation Map Analysis

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This work proposes an analysis of activation maps to compare the behaviour of original images and different kinds of adversarial examples, both artificial and natural. For this purpose, different metrics are extracted from the activation heatmap, such as mean pixel values, centroid distance or reference image quality metrics.

Temporal video quality assessment method involving structural similarity index [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, a video quality assessment (VQA) that focuses on temporal part is being proposed. It is based on Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) and the work of previous researchers where differences of the frames are being measured.

MCD‐YOLOv10n: A Small Object Detection Algorithm for UAVs

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, an improved algorithm, MCD‐YOLOv10n, is proposed to address the small object detection challenge in UAV data acquisition. The MEMAttention module combines EMAttention and multi‐scale convolution to capture image features at different scales.C2f combines with MEMAttention and DSConv to enhance the flexibility of the network. The algorithm

New spatiotemporal method for assessing video quality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The existence of temporal effects and temporal distortions in a video differentiate the way it is assessed from an image. Temporal effects and distortions can enhance or depress the visibility of spatial effects in a video.

An Overview of Robot Embodied Intelligence Based on Multimodal Models: Tasks, Models, and System Schemes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The exploration of embodied intelligence has garnered widespread consensus in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI). Classical AI models, which rely on labeled data for learning, struggle to adapt to dynamic, unstructured environments due to their offline learning paradigms.

FOVQA: Blind Foveated Video Quality Assessment

open access: yes, 2021
Previous blind or No Reference (NR) video quality assessment (VQA) models largely rely on features drawn from natural scene statistics (NSS), but under the assumption that the image statistics are stationary in the spatial domain. Several of these models
