Upcycling Real‐World Post‐Consumer Polyolefins Plastics Into Light Olefins Via Microwave‐Assisted Processing

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Microwave‐driven Ru@α‐Fe2O3 selectively upgrades real‐world post‐consumer mixed polyolefin waste into light olefins with high gas yields and olefin selectivity at markedly reduced temperatures compared with conventional thermal pyrolysis. Strong tolerance of additives and feed heterogeneity highlights an energy‐efficient and scalable route for circular

Efficient Solar‐Driven Interfacial Steam‐Electricity Co‐Generation by Modular Design of CAU‐23/Graphene Hybrid Evaporator

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A dual‐functional evaporator based on CAU‐23/graphene hybrid is acquired through a modular design strategy. Owing to superior broadband light absorption, optimal wettability, and porous architecture that synergistically integrates nanoconfined ionic channels with photothermal conversion, it exhibits a high evaporation rate of 2.71 kg m−2 h−1 with the ...

Irreversible Deactivation Mechanism of Propane Dehydrogenation Catalysts Unveiled by In Situ TEM: Roles of AlxCryO Solid Solutions

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
The deactivation of CrOx/Al2O3 by two stages under PDH is revealed via in situ TEM. Initially, CrOx particles disperse and transform into AlxCryO solid solutions that promote graphitic coke growth. Subsequently, the continuous migration of Cr results in the formation of Cr‐rich solid solutions that only partially revert under oxidative regeneration ...

Tribochemical Surface Modification of Silicon

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Mechanical scribing activates silicon surfaces by generating reactive sites that spontaneously graft alcohol‐, thiol‐, and alkyne‐terminated molecules under ambient conditions. Within 10 s, high‐coverage, electroactive organic layers form without light, heat, or applied voltage, offering a rapid tribochemical route to functional silicon interfaces for ...

The Filament Extension Atomization Process for Powder Production of Elastic Fluids

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Filament extension atomization is a promising technique for spraying a wide range of materials, enabling narrow droplet size distributions. This study examines the behavior of various fluids and suspensions to define application limits and identify optimal operating conditions.

In Vivo Cytoskeletal AMPA Receptor Transport Imaging in C. elegans

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Long‐distance intracellular transport of ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs) is essential for proper excitatory synaptic function underlying learning and memory. Many neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions have abnormal iGluR transport and trafficking, leading to an intense interest in the mechanisms and factors regulating these

Video streaming with diversity

2003 International Conference on Multimedia and Expo. ICME '03. Proceedings (Cat. No.03TH8698), 2003
Packet path diversity is one of the recent advances in network-adaptive video streaming. In this paper we first examine two specific techniques for video streaming that exploit diversity to achieve improved performance. The first technique uses a framework for rate-distortion optimized scheduling of the packet transmissions over the available network ...

Authenticating Video Streams

20th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications - Volume 1 (AINA'06), 2006
In this paper, we propose SAVe, a real-time stream authentication scheme for video streams. Each packet in the stream is authenticated to correspond to packet loss seen in UDP-based streaming. Since temporal and spatial compression techniques are adopted for video stream encoding, there are differences in the importance and dependencies between frames.

Streaming Video

2023
Abstract This chapter discusses the rise of streaming video services and apps as popular means of distributing and consuming music. It details the rapid rise of both YouTube in the mid-2000s and TikTok in the late 2010s. The chapter covers the roles of user-uploaded content, audio recognition technology, and laws such as the Digital ...

Mobile video streaming with video quality and streaming performance guarantees

2015 IEEE 11th International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (WiMob), 2015
Mobile video streaming has become a mainstream application due to vastly improved smartphone hardware and mobile network capacity in recent years. Nevertheless, mobile video streaming remains challenging in practice due to mobile network's inherent bandwidth fluctuations.
