Human Tracking in Video Surveillance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Video Surveillance has become area of research and development due to increase in terrorist activities, thefts and other activities that can cause harm to human property and lives. Due to this researchers have been trying to add more and more intelligence in the video monitoring systems, so that it could automatically detect the malicious activities in

Meta-tracking for video scene understanding [PDF]

open access: yes2013 10th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Video and Signal Based Surveillance, 2013
This paper presents a novel method to extract dominant motion patterns (MPs) and the main entry/exit areas from a surveillance video. The method first computes motion histograms for each pixel and then converts it into orientation distribution functions (ODFs).

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Eye Tracking of Attentional Allocation During Processing of Game Technologies: Association with Daily Playtime and Gaming Consequences

open access: yesAddicta: The Turkish Journal on Addictions, 2022
This study used eye tracking as a measure of attention to examine how preference for video gaming images may change across a continuum of video gamers (casual to heavy).

Depth-Adaptive Computational Policies for Efficient Visual Tracking

open access: yes, 2018
Current convolutional neural networks algorithms for video object tracking spend the same amount of computation for each object and video frame. However, it is harder to track an object in some frames than others, due to the varying amount of clutter ...

Illumination invariant stationary object detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A real-time system for the detection and tracking of moving objects that becomes stationary in a restricted zone. A new pixel classification method based on the segmentation history image is used to identify stationary objects in the scene. These objects

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Real-Time Salient Closed Boundary Tracking via Line Segments Perceptual Grouping

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents a novel real-time method for tracking salient closed boundaries from video image sequences. This method operates on a set of straight line segments that are produced by line detection. The tracking scheme is coherently integrated into

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.
