CT Evaluation of the Vidian Canal Localization
Clinical Anatomy, 2007AbstractThe primary purpose of our work is to show that the vidian canal can be determined on CT imaging. The secondary goal is to establish the position and configuration of the vidian canal visualization. The CT imaging of vidian canals of 150 patients were examined in axial and coronal sections in 3 mm thickness made at 3 mm intervals.

Vidian Canal: Analysis and Relationship to the Internal Carotid Artery
Laryngoscope, 2007AbstractObjectives: The purpose of this study is to describe the anatomy and relationships of the vidian canal to known endonasal and skull base landmarks. This will allow the endoscopic skull base surgeon to safely approach the anterior genu of the petrous carotid artery during expanded endonasal approaches to the skull base.Study Design: The study is

Visualization of the Vidian Canal and Nerve Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2018Few studies have investigated the vidian nerve (VN) and vidian canal (VC) with the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The present study aimed to characterize the VC and VN using MRI.A total of 91 patients underwent thin-sliced, contrast MRI.

Radiologic Evaluation of the Vidian Canal in the Pediatric Population
Surgical and Radiologic AnatomyThis examination aimed to display the size and topographic position of the Vidian canal (VC) in normal children.180 pediatric subjects aged 1-18 years were included this computed tomography examination. The distances of VC to certain landmarks, and VC length were measured.

Endoscopic anatomy of the palatovaginal canal (palatosphenoidal canal)
AbstractObjectives/Hypothesis:Demonstrate the endoscopic anatomy of the palatovaginal (PV) canal and artery for identification and dissection of the vidian nerve during endoscopic transpterygoid approaches. Evaluate the length of the PV canal and its relation with the vidian nerve.

To present the anatomical variations of vidian canal (VC) and sphenoid sinus (SS), relative to other anatomical landmarks of skull base area, which may be helpful for safer surgical approach to this area.MDCT scans (128-row MDCT system) of 90 patients (mean age 62 years) and six cadaveric heads were studied, and the following parameters were evaluated:
